Null values are not considered equal. A multicolumn unique index will only reject cases where all indexed columns are equal in multiple rows. </P ><P > <SPAN CLASS="PRODUCTNAME" >PostgreSQL</SPAN > automatically creates a unique index when a unique constraint or primary key is defined for a table.
